Did you know that this year is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the College of Liberal Arts & Behavioral Sciences (COLABS) formerly known as the College of Arts & Sciences? The COLABS alumni board members met to discuss ways to celebrate this important milestone. Are you a COLABS alum that would you like to get involved or are you just curious about what’s going on? Then feel free to contact us! TSU Needs You!
Thank you to those that were able to make it out to the meeting Saturday with special thanks also going out to St. Luke the Evangelist Episcopal Church @ 3530 Wheeler Ave for hosting our meeting. Elections were held for our new board for the upcoming cycle! As always, if you would like to get involved, please feel free to contact us either through social media, our website or via email.
Obtaining healthy food is one of the greatest needs in the Houston area, so the COLABS alumni chapter volunteered with fellow alumnus Richard Andrews with his “We Are One” Mobile Food Pantry which is held every Saturday from 11am – 2pm, at the Shrine of the Black Madonna’s Parking Lot, located at 5309 Martin Luther King Boulevard. If you are your group would like to volunteer, please contact Richard at 832-651-8135. For more information about the food distribution drive or to provide a donation, please click here as any assistance is greatly appreciated!
From the description of the Tiger Market: The TSU Tiger Market assists students and their families in navigating diverse concerns, as well as identifying resources for personal, academic, and social success. We know that students cannot learn if they are hungry, and they may not be able to acquire an internship or a job when they do not possess the necessary professional attire for the job interview. To that end, when the COLABS alumni heard that there was a need for certain items, the alumni of the chapter brought food items, personal hygiene items, drinks and more to restock the pantry. If you would like to donate as well, please visit the Market’s website or by contacting Mr. Larence Snowden, Assistant Vice President of Corporate and Community Partnerships, at 713-313-6778
Welcome to the Market!
Our chapter president, Sherry Fuller, thanking volunteers for their donation as well as giving them a tour of the marketplace.
Thank You!
Giving thanks to some of the alumni donors for donating needed items!
Never too young to help
